Lisa Heuvel, Ed.D.
As a teacher, writer, and historian, I see leadership studies as a transformative pathway for self-reflection and growth as well as a lens for understanding our shared past and present. My passion is co-creating interactive learning communities with students in which we recognize and encourage each other’s potential to make the world a better place.
On the Atlantic University faculty since 2018, I have taught at the undergraduate, graduate, or lifelong learning levels at Christopher Newport University, the University of North Carolina, and William and Mary. Professionally, I have held educational, curatorial, and administrative positions at the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation and the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, and currently work as an educational consultant.
